#KN6009 The Keagy/Noble Federal Issue Civil War Blanket
Only $120.00 Shipping Included
The Keagy/Noble blanket is an original production of America's oldest equipped and operational woolen mill. Much of the antique textile machinery used in making this blanket was in operation during the Civil War period. The K/N blanket is a reintroduction of the nearly extinct art of operation of the 19th century woolen system.
John Keagy and Joseph Noble operated two mills which made blankets used by the troops in the Civil War. This blanket is woven using the same processing techniques and the specifications are the Quartermaster specs of 1851. The Adjutant General was responsible for the specifications of the Uniform and Dress of the Army of the US during the war. In 1851, General order #31 described No. 143 Blanket-woolen, grey, with U.S. in black, four inches long, in the center, to be seven feet long and five and a half feet wide and to weigh five pounds.
This blanket is a close match in color (brownish) to the existing 1851 pattern blankets preserved in the Danish Military Museum in Copenhagen and closely matches one in our collection. This blanket is brownish with U.S. stitching in the center, 7 ft X 5 1/2 ft and weighs a little over 4 lbs.

Our playing cards are the finest available. From an original deck in his collection, Mr Robert Moulder of Denver, CO did the color separation and layout work to produce a top-notch deck of period cards. One look at the face cards will bespeak the quality of this item. They have a military motif on the back and the correct faces without numbers. Each card is hand varnished. The deck comes boxed. The Ace of Spades is the Jarnagin Maker card as was common on period decks.
