#7060 1779 French Cartridge Box $236.00
There is very little difference between 1767 to 1779 on French cartridge boxes. There is minor flap shape, such as the shield shape on the earlier one to the straight across on the pattern of 1779. The pattern of 1779 is thought to be the pattern in use by the French troops that helped during the Revolutionary War. This box comes with the block with two large opening on each end and 6 holes drilled in the center.
We do not carry any of the decorations for the flaps.
Please state The shape of the flap when ordering which shape you want.

This is not like modern saddle soaps but instead is mostly made from cod oil. This type of soap will clean the leather but not be harsh enough to damage the leather. Leather items should be cleaned with soap several times a year in order to prevent the build up of dirt and other things that will damage the grain surface.
