#812      Issue Pattern Shirt (Cotton Muslin-Off White)
Prior to 1852, evidently the army bought shirts on the open market or contracted for them to no specific pattern. The 1852 shirt is a four button pullover with one button on each cuff. The front placket is approx. 16" long and comes to a point at the bottom. The sleeves are off shoulder with gussets in the underarms. This shirt has a full body and a fold down collar with pointed corners. The tail of the shirt is split on each side with rounded edges. The original specifications and general pre war usage was a gray wool shirt. During the war, a natural muslin (off white) shirt of the same pattern was very much in evidence, and civilian production provided colored shirts of similar cut. This is the standard four-button pullover shirt. Real bone buttons are attached.

This shirt is available in gray or dark blue wool (Specify).  Pocket placement and trims may vary so you may specify your wishes when ordering. 

This should be a fairly long shirt.  When ordering specify neck, chest, sleeve and length from base of neck to tail.  We allow for the fact that the shirt fits over everything else.

#817      Civilian Pattern Shirt
Made of 100% cotton. This shirt is a four button pullover with a yoke in the back, one button cuffs, a square bottom placket in front, and gussets in the underarms. This shirt has a full body and a low stand-up collar. Often seen with white collar and cuffs with the rest of the shirt in a color, stripe or pattern. Real bone buttons are attached.

*Solid Color-Bleached white, Red, Dark Blue, or Gray), collar & cuff will be the same color as the body on solid color shirts.
*Stripe (Red or blue) or Pattern (Yellow calico, Red Check, Blue Check, Green Check, Brown Check), ), collar & cuff will be white on stripe or pattern shirts.

Available in Red, Blue or Gray Cotton
This is a pullover style shirt with a pointed collar. It does not have a neck closure button. The bib front is squared and has an eight button attachment to the front of the shirt. It has blousy off the shoulder sleeves.

#592LW       Lightweight Undershirt
Made of cotton osnaburg. This undershirt has a four button front. Real bone buttons are attached. Only the top button is visible. The other three buttons are hidden by a front facing. The collar has folded down pointed corners. The sleeve is straight with no cuff. Often used as the only shirt, especially in camp and in hospitals.
