This very large linen haversack was standard for the British Army. It is worn very high on the body. It is secured with three pewter buttons.
#FI0400 British Hair Covered Knapsack (Special Item call before ordering.)
This a leather knapsack with the hair still on the hide. By the hair being left on the leather this helps the knapsack be water proof.
There is a leather strap attached by leather thongs. Three pewter button closer. This knapsack was copied from period drawings.
We try to use a brown cow hide but there may be spots of lighter colors on the bag.

This large linen bag is fastened by three pewter buttons. It has two linen shoulders straps for carriage. The size is 16 1/2" by 17".
This is indeed the basic knapsack type but is very usable.

The knapsack has two leather back straps fastened at the bottom with wooden buttons.
We use blackened steel buckles and the leather is left in the natural color.
The buttons in the inner flaps are 5/8ths horn buttons.

The Lherbette knapsack is copied from original specs and examination of an original knapsack.
This knapsack has a blue painted flap with a white circle and "US" in red letters.
It has one large pocket closed with a buckle and strap and a second envelope with center opening in the flap.
Crown soap- 8oz of soap in a tin container $10.95
We are now offering this period soap for cleaning leather. This is based off a period recipe for soap liked by harness makers. This is not like modern saddle soaps but instead is mostly made from cod oil. This type of soap will clean the leather but not be harsh enough to damage the leather. Leather items should be cleaned with soap several times a year in order to prevent the build up of dirt and other things that will damage the grain surface.
With Natural Fungicides to combat mold and mildew. This product will not streak or blotch and leaves no surface residue to soil clothing. It works great on all saddles, tack & all top grain leathers (Brogans). 16 Fl. Oz.
