Fort Ligonier Pattern Canteen
The tin canteen is made of heavy tinplate. It is intended to see field service and will last a very long time if proper care is used. These are made in our shops. It is furnished with a wooden cork and string to attach it to the canteen. It is furnished with a cord suspension and a shoulder sleeve of leather. The excavations at Fort Ligonier produced canteen formerly identified only with the Revolution. Kidney shaped with sharper corners.
Furnished black Japanned, or plain tin.

1812 Tin Kidney Canteen
This is an kidney canteen with very pointed corners. It has loops for a leather sling which is furnished with the canteen. It has a ring and cork stopper. This canteen is from the Fort Meigs example.
